2017 Scholarship Application

Association of California Recycling Industries Scholarship 2017

ACRI will offer one $1,500 in scholarship this year.  Applicants must obtain and complete the required documents listed below and submit them to ACRI no later than May 31, 2017. Award recognition will take place at ACRI’s June Membership Meeting on June 29, 2017. All documents will be destroyed by a NAID AAA Certified facility after the selection and award process.

Requirements:

1) A completed scholarship application form.

2) A current résumé.

3) At least two letters of recommendation. Whenever possible, letters should be typewritten. One letter should be from a teacher, professor, counselor, or school administrator, and the other from a community business member (not family).

4) A copy of your most recent transcript/report card.

5) Completed essay of 500-1000 words addressing the following topic:

Describe how the education and experiences you will have in college could enrich your life
and prepare you to reach your goals for the future. Tell us why those goals are important to you.

Eligibility:

* Students must be California resident; and an employee of or dependent child or grandchild of an ACRI full member.

* High school students must have a minimum high school G.P.A. of 3.0.

* College students must show proof of enrollment and minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.0.

* Students must be planning to attend, or be currently enrolled in, an accredited college, university or community college.

Criteria for Selection:

Scholarship recipients should have a record of excellent academic performance, a strong commitment to community service, and leadership qualities; the written essay will also be given careful consideration.

ACRI scholarship awards will be deposited directly into the recipient’s account at the appropriate college or university during the 2017-2018 academic year. ACRI reserves the right not to award a scholarship if less than 10 qualifying applications are submitted.
